Canadian company makes cartoons that captivate children all over the world
Franklin, the turtle who can “count by twos and tie his shoes”, is beloved by little ones in dozens of countries. He is also one of several cartoon characters developed by Nelvana, a Toronto-based company that is one of the world's leading international producers and distributors of children's animated content.
Quebec's only Nuclear Power Plant Closed

After 29 years in operation, the province of Quebec’s only nuclear power plant shut down on Friday December 28th at 10:30 pm.

Back in September, Pauline Marois, in her first week as Premier of Quebec, announced the closure fulfilling one of her election campaign promises.  It is the first political decision to shut a nuclear power plant in North America.

Gentilly 2, built on the south shore of the St. Lawrence river about 150 kilometres northeast of Montreal, is located near Becancour, Quebec.
