Today on show number 22.. we start our with a David vs Goliath battle as a coalition of farmers, environmentalists and cocerned citizens rise up agains an American-backed company that sought to turn prime farmland in Ontario, into a massive limestone quarry. And this time the citizens beat the billion-dollar backed company.

Then, then an interesting study which although not conclusive, does seems to point out a connection between industrial enviornment and expusure to a variety of chemicals, and increased risk of breast cancer. the Study is called  “Breast cancer risk in relation to occupations with exposure to carcinogens and endocrine disruptors: a Canadian case--control study

We also learn about an international survey called Small Voices, Big Dreams and it asked 6, 200 children in 47 countries - most of them developing countries - about their hopes, aspirations and fears.  The survey was released by the international children's aid group Childfund Alliance - and was released this past Monday in Canada by one of the member organisations of the Alliance - the Christian Children's Fund of Canada.

and an anniversary for the Dictionary of Newfoundland English, its their 30th, for this interesting look at a distinctive and colourful version of English.
