Canada is a hockey-mad country, but the top professional league, the NHL, is not on the ice as the players and team owners battle over money. To feed the need for hockey we hear about a Canadian fan who went looking for hockey and found it in some very unlikely places around the world.

We also delve into politics, as opposition members of our federal parliament become angry over the government's efforts to put a time limit on debates on new legislation.

The most recent census showed aboriginal languages are slowly dying out in Canada, and in an effort to inspire youth to learn the language of their elders, a group in Calgary Alberta has created a graphic novel in the Blackfoot language with plans to expand into other First Nations languages.

and as this is Veterans Week in Canada, leadingup to Remembrance day tomorrow, Nov 11, we hear of one man's ambitious plan to commemorate the vital role Canadians played in the invasion of Sicily in Operation Husky 1943.
