We have and excerpt of a conversation with a well-known intelligence and security expert on allegations of economic and military security threats posed by the Chinese telecom companies Huawei and ZTE,

We also hear about concerns over a plan by oil industries in  the western province of Alberta's oil sands region to dispose of toxic tailings in giant end-pit lakes, and cover them with water to eventually have recreational lakes. One expert says the industry hypothesis has never been tested properly and may result in costly long term problems.

Canada iis proposing some innovative solutions to deal with mental health issues in developing countries.

and we also look at the beginnings of a potential political dynasty as Justin Trudeau announces his run for the leadership of the federal Liberal Party of Canada, a position his father held before  taking the party to power as Prime Minister on a wave of "Trudeau-mania" in 1968 and again in 1980.
