Canada announces more sanctions against Syria

Canada this week announced more sanctions against Syria and reiterated it's concern about the situation there.

Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs John Baird announced the sanctions on Friday, August 31, and outlined Canada's concerns about the developments in Syria, and his concern for religious minorities. As well the Minister repeated Canada's disappointment with Russia's position on Syria.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper would very much like to conclude a nuclear cooperation agreement with India when he visits this November. That would make it easier for Canadian uranium and reactor companies to do business in India. But there is a serious obstacle to such an agreement. Montreal Bicycle Film Festival
Montreal World Film Festival is in full swing, and just down the road another celebration of cinema is taking place.  The Montreal Bicycle Film Festival features 30 tales this year, and they arell about bikes, on bikes, or with bikes.  It is part an international festival that is based in New York City, and tours other cities with thriving bike cultures, places like Istanbul, Helsinki, and for the first time, Hong Kong.
