What symbols do Canadians think best reflect Canada?” Postmedia News commissioned a survey to find out and published results for Canada Day, July 1st. It turns out the number one symbol of Canada chosen by most respondents was the country’s majestic wilderness. Lynn Desjardins has more.
Canadian small business confidence continues to fall
Canadian small and medium-sized businesses continue to be concerned by the world economic situation. In fact, a survey just released by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) suggests confidence among its members has continued to drop.

Small and medium-sized businesses represent about half of Canada’s GDP -  the Gross Domestic Product which includes all goods and services produced in the country - and so these businessses have a substantial impact on the Canadian economy.

Ted Mallett is the Federation’s Chief Economist and Vice-President. He discussed the results of the survey with RCI’s Wojtek Gwiazda
